In July, 2022 the IT'S PLAY project team was in the field implementing two main Early Childhood Education (ECE) outreach programmes i.e reaching out to parents in schools using  posters and community awareness using public announcements. The agenda involved prototyping ECE outreach activities for parents and other community members. Key ECE messages on ECE enrolment, Learning through Play and parental involvement were shared and tested by use of a draft communication poster and Public Address system in Luanshya and Masaiti District in Copperbelt Province and Chongwe and Rufunsa Districts in Lusaka Province.The prototype activities will  lead to further development and fine-tuning of the actual activities, which will be implemented during the course of the project timeline.

 

The Ministry of Education (MoE) in collaboration with VVOB - education for development with the support from The LEGO Foundation is implementing the "Improving Teaching Skills in Playful Learning amongst Africa's Youngest'' (IT'S PLAY) Project. The project will run for five years and is aimed at Strengthening Learning Trough Play (LtP) in Early Childhood Education (ECE) by introducing playful learning for emergent literacy and numeracy development. 

 

Project activities are being implemented in Lusaka and Copperbelt Provinces with the inclusion of Chirundu District in Southern Province.
